SHIFT Inc. Invited Mr. Kohsuke Kawaguchi as Our Technical Advisor, to Boost Global Standardizing Software Testing Methodology

SHIFT Inc. (“SHIFT”) is pleased to announce that Mr. Kohsuke Kawaguchi, a Chief Scientist in CloudBees, a developer of Jenkins, is invited as our Technical Advisor. SHIFT firmly believes our partnership would advance our global standardizing quality assurance methodology and give us idea of our global targets.

Mr. Kawaguchi and SHIFT has known each other since 2010, we have repeatedly had good discussions about our business and services when Mr. Kawaguchi visited Japan. SHIFT expects that this appointment would boost us in approaching to wider-range of markets and in growing our service and business model, to achieve our vision “Made-in Japan Quality for all Software Products.”

Mr. Kawaguchi earned Master of Engineering, Department of Computer Science, Cornell University in 2002. He developed the first CI (continuous integration) tool “Hudson”, a predecessor of Jenkins, in Sun Microststems. Later, he joined Cloudbees and was a CTO. Currently, he is a Chief Scientist in CloudBees, and travels around the world to meet “Jenkins users” to know each of their software development style and culture for further Jenkins development and promotion.

Jenkins is a CI tool, automating a certain sequence of operation in software development, offered by CloudBees. Jenkins Open Source Software (OSS), written in Java, is used by world-wide users, for various purposes, including accelerating software release cycle, automating development process, and minimizing development cost.
