SHIFT Launches “System Health & Rapid Response Partnership Program” to Safeguard Live Enterprise Systems Against EOL and Latent Risks
“Free Rapid Assessment” quickly visualizes code architecture and security vulnerabilities. Delivers tailored, end-to-end solutions spanning emergency patching, core modernization, automated regression testing, continuous threat monitoring, and AI-powered maintenance operations.
TOKYO, October 23, 2026 – SHIFT Inc. (TSE Prime: 3697), a provider of business transformation services rooted in quality, today announced the launch of its “System Health & Rapid Response Partnership Program”. Designed for enterprises struggling with end-of-life (EOL) programming languages and frameworks, and latent security risks, the initiative begins with a zero-cost “Free Rapid Assessment” to visualize current system status and underlying exposure.
Through this Free Rapid Assessment, powered by SHIFT’s proprietary AI-driven specification visualization technology (SHIFT DQS for Reverse Engineering), organizations receive fast, actionable visibility into the actual operational state and hidden vulnerabilities of running systems. Based on identified risks, SHIFT proposes comprehensive remediation and risk-mitigation measures that account for mid- to long-term ROI and operational resilience. For aging, mission-critical systems where patches can no longer be applied due to obsolete software versions, SHIFT provides full-scale modernization strategies—including refactoring, rewriting, rebuilding, and replacing.
To reduce business downtime and defect risks following security patches or version upgrades, SHIFT provides AI-driven automated regression testing via its proprietary AI testing platform, NEMURANAI. Furthermore, SHIFT offers end-to-end support: from initial diagnostics and modernization roadmaps to routine maintenance automation (SHIFT DQS for Maintenance Support) and post-deployment continuous threat monitoring (THREAT-AQ), delivering tailored solutions that address each client’s unique operational environment.

Background
As cyberattacks become increasingly sophisticated and rapid, enterprise IT leaders face an uphill battle balancing day-to-day operational continuity with rigorous cybersecurity. In particular, production systems that have operated smoothly for years often harbor significant technical debt, architectural obsolescence, and operational “black-box” silos beneath the surface—making it exceptionally difficult to identify latent risks before a crisis occurs.
To quantify this reality, SHIFT conducted its Survey on Hidden Risks in Enterprise IT Systems in Japan (published October 15, 2026), analyzing source code from 213 active systems across 144 Japanese enterprises (approximately 314 million lines of code (steps)) using static code analysis and Large Language Models (LLMs). The study uncovered significant objective risks rarely visible in conventional self-reported surveys:
90.4% of active production systems analyzed were already running on software that had reached End-of-Life (EOL).
14.1% suffered from a compounding “triple risk”: legacy age (in operation for over 20 years) × extreme complexity (maximum cyclomatic complexity (CCN) exceeding 200) × unsupported software (EOL).
Many enterprises run mission-critical operations while carrying legacy risks beneath the surface.
To ensure business continuity against escalating legacy risks and cyber threats, organizations must transition from reactive, ad-hoc incident response to proactive, root-cause risk management. To address this widespread industry challenge, SHIFT launched the “System Health & Rapid Response Partnership Program”—anchored by its complimentary AI-driven diagnostic—to minimize the initial burden on operational teams while partnering with them from discovery through to complete technical resolution.

Program Overview & Key Features
Zero-Cost Visibility into Hidden Risks via “Free Rapid Assessment”
Leveraging SHIFT’s proprietary AI reverse-engineering technology (SHIFT DQS for Reverse Engineering), SHIFT conducts automated static code analysis to report fundamental risk indicators: codebase scale, structural complexity, library/framework EOL status, and latent security vulnerabilities. Enterprises can accurately assess the objective health of their core systems at no cost.
(Note: This rapid assessment is designed to visualize structural health and latent codebase risks via AI static analysis. For penetration testing or in-depth vulnerability assessments on live environments, specialized services are available through SHIFT’s dedicated cybersecurity brand, “SECURE AQ.”)

Six Tailored Modernization Approaches Based on System Obsolescence
Based on diagnostic findings, SHIFT formulates and executes the optimal technical strategy aligned with the client’s legacy tier and business roadmap. For systems still on supported versions, applying security patches and framework upgrades is prioritized for swift risk mitigation. For severely outdated systems where vendor patches are discontinued or codebases have become unmaintainable black boxes, SHIFT deploys “AI Modernization” to address root risks:
Immediate Risk Mitigation
Patching: Rapid deployment of security and bug-fix patches.
Version Upgrades: Updating environments to supported, maintainable version tiers.
Core Modernization & Architectural Overhaul
Refactoring: Restructuring internal code to improve health and maintainability without altering existing business logic.
Rewriting: Re-architecting outdated source code where official patches can no longer be applied.
Rebuilding: Re-engineering systems on modern architectures while preserving existing functional specifications.
Replacing: Executing a complete platform overhaul by migrating to modern or next-generation infrastructure.
AI-Driven Automated Regression Testing to Mitigate Outage & Defect Risks
Leveraging the AI testing service, NEMURANAI, SHIFT conducts end-to-end functional validation following software patches and framework upgrades. The AI autonomously navigates user interfaces to verify that screen layouts, hyperlinks, and operational workflows remain fully intact, reducing the risk of business interruption. Capable of handling enterprise systems spanning tens of thousands of pages, the service achieved an AI evaluation accuracy rate of 99.6% as of August 2026.
Streamlining Maintenance Operations with AI to Prevent Black Boxes and Silos
To prevent maintenance from becoming an opaque, individual-dependent black box, SHIFT DQS for Maintenance Support standardizes and streamlines ongoing operations. AI static analysis automatically generates and continuously updates comprehensive technical documentation—covering both internal and external specifications—upon every deployment, significantly reducing impact-analysis overhead during future enhancements.
In addition to AIOps capabilities (anomaly detection, predictive failure alerts, and automated initial response), SHIFT delivers hybrid AI-and-human operational outsourcing. This covers routine manual tasks such as monitoring alerts, verifying batch jobs and cross-system data interfaces, managing user inquiries, and executing stakeholder communication and reporting.
This model ensures uninterrupted system reliability while optimizing routine “operational IT costs”, freeing up organizational bandwidth and budget for “growth-oriented IT investments” such as digital transformation (DX) and strategic product development.
Continuous External Security Monitoring via Threat Intelligence and AI Analysis
SHIFT provides ongoing protection against emerging vulnerabilities and attack vectors long after deployment. Through its managed security service THREAT-AQ, SHIFT continuously monitors external attack surfaces (internet-exposed IT assets) for misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, exposed credentials, data leaks, and spoofing risks.
By synthesizing external threat intelligence, proprietary AI analytics, and elite security analyst expertise, THREAT-AQ evaluates vulnerability severity alongside actual exploitation status and attack likelihood. It prioritizes response tasks and provides actionable technical guidance to help reduce the risk of breaches.
