According to an announcement by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the number of workers who are in their employment contract but have not worked for a certain period due to illness or absence, increased sharply up to 4.2 million. In particular, the number of part-time workers has declined significantly. This trend is more apparent among women than among men and it has continued until now.
