Expansion of AI-Driven Modernization Services
– Launch of “SHIFT DQS for Reverse Engineering” –
SHIFT Inc. (“the Company”) announces the launch of “SHIFT DQS for Reverse Engineering,” an AI-powered modernization support service that visualizes both internal and external system specifications based on source code and generates 46 types of system documentation, providing a comprehensive view of overall system structures.
This service integrates and advances the Company’s existing AI solutions and is designed to expand the value provided in legacy system modernization and DX-related projects, while strengthening the Company’s ability to generate and expand project opportunities.
1.Overview of the Service
“SHIFT DQS for Reverse Engineering” analyzes system source code using AI to visualize internal and external specifications and generates 46 types of system-related documents.
This enables clients to quickly and efficiently understand the overall structure of their systems, ranging from system architecture and logic to actual business usage.
The generated documentation is centrally managed through the dashboard “SHIFT DQS Insight Studio,” where it serves as a factual basis for informed decision-making related to system renewal, maintenance, and modernization.

The service can be utilized in conjunction with the Company’s development support solution, “SHIFT DQS for Forward Engineering.”
Through this integration, the Company expects to provide end-to-end support covering:
•Current system assessment
•Rebuild policy formulation
•System redevelopment and implementation
As a result, the Company expects to expand its scope of engagement in modernization projects and enhance project value per engagement, contributing to increased customer lifetime value.

2.Background
Many enterprises in Japan face growing challenges related to aging and increasingly complex legacy systems, including rising operating costs and shortages of personnel capable of maintaining and modernizing such systems. These issues are often cited as part of the so-called “2025 Digital Cliff.”
In particular, insufficient or missing system documentation makes it difficult to fully understand existing system specifications, which in turn hinders decision-making related to system renewal and redevelopment and slows the execution of DX strategies.
To address these structural challenges, the Company has progressively developed proprietary AI-based solutions to visualize internal and external system specifications.
This service represents a further evolution of those efforts by integrating system visualization and document generation into a single offering, enabling faster and more accurate understanding of overall system structures.
3.Future Outlook and Impact on Financial Results
The Company will continue to invest in AI-driven quality assurance and modernization-related services and aims to achieve medium- to long-term business growth and enhancement of corporate value through synergies with its existing businesses.
The impact of this service on the Company’s consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending August 2026 is expected to be immaterial. However, the Company believes that expanding modernization-related projects will contribute to increased revenue opportunities over the medium to long term.
